It is a cool and well secured place, with temperature and humidity controlling system, where mended and treated deteriorating rare and unique materials are kept. This is to minimize or to prevent growth of molds and destruction of the materials from book worms. Notable among these materials are Furley and Folio collections. Furley and Folio were Dutch writers in the colonial period in the history of Ghana.

These information are currently being converted into digital formats for continuous preservation and easy dissemination.
Microfilm Reader(s) and other equipment are available in accesing the microfilm materials. Staff are present at all times to assist patrons to use the reading equipment.
The library also has all the proceedings of the National Reconcilliation Commission set up by the John Agyekum Kuffour led government on Video cassettes and these are also being transported to DVD formats.
